Jangsusan Hotel is probably the best in Pyongsong. It is one of few hotels which offers accommodation for foreigners in town. When Pyongyang hotels were fully booked, guests will be transferred to this hotel.
Rooms at the Jangsusan Hotel are simple but clean and cozy. The bed is hard but comfortable. In room television has only national channels. The hot water is only available at some time in morning and evening.
From your room's balcony, you can watch the city life pass by. It is great opportunity to see how the locals live and for candid unscripted photography. Hotel's staffs are extremely friendly and helpful.
All in all, it’s an excellent itinerary to have Pyongsong in the list, with a great variety and being only 40 minutes from Pyongyang may become a much more regular stop. It is said the Ponghak brewery will be opened soon to finally provide a replacement for the now closed to tourists Taedonggan brewery and news looks good, so stay tuned!
