Located on the Mekong River three hours upstream from Luang Prabang, Kamu Lodge is a private eco-lodge in the unspoilt countryside of Northern Laos. Opened in 2004, this eco-friendly lodge seeks to balance tourism and the region's cultural of Lao ethnic minorities. Once there, you can experience living the tradition life of the Lao by participating in rice planting and harvesting of local culture.
At Kamu Lodge, there are 20 canvas safari tents which are made of natural friendly materials like bamboo and thatched. All tents are equipped with simple but comfortable beds, solar panel generates electricity, private bathrooms with solar powered hot water and private balconies overlooking the beautiful rice paddies or the Mekong River. They will bring you an authentic feel of the traditional Laos. It is a very peaceful place, ideal for relaxing and taking it easy.
Kamu Lodge's riverside restaurant serves wide range of delicious food which made from organic ingredients such as fish from the Mekong, pork raised by local farmers and beef or buffalo. There is also a bar in the lodge that offers a variety of drinks that are local and imported. Most of hotel's staffs come from surrounding villages, they will inject their warm and friendly personalities to guests.
