Perched on the top of the Longji Terraces in Longsheng County, offers incredible views over the stepped rice terraces below, Li-An Lodge is a boutique hotel built and designed by the world renowned photographer, painter and adventurous world traveler, Keren Su. He discovered this enchanted location during a photography trip in 1997.
Li-An Lodge is an entirely wood structure implementing the traditional Chinese construction technique of fitting pegs into grooves to secure joints. There are 16 rooms in total which are individually designed, show off the stunning and traditional Chinese architecture accentuated by original design features, creating a quaint and rustic feel that strikes a balance with elegance and charm. The name of each room denotes the different design influence and even though not expansive in size do provide a very comfortable stay with en suite bathrooms and most coming with breathtaking views of the rice terraces below. The Standard Rooms do have partial views of the terraces while The Suites and Terrace Rooms come complete view of the rice fields. Although the rooms do not have Internet access, there is a high-speed connection in the business center.
From Li-An Lodge, there are several walking trails to some of the local villages of Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong minority groups where you will have chance to explore the traditional cultures. One of the most striking areas to visit is the Dragon Back Rice Terrace which is considered as the most amazing terrace in China. All year round, the terraces present different beauty in different seasons: flooded with water in spring, lush and green in summer, golden in the autumn and snow covered in the winter. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served with authentic food of local people.
