Immerse yourself in the beguiling beauty of the ‘maiko’ (apprentice geisha) scene during an exquisite evening of culture and cuisine at atmospheric streets of Gion, the city's Geisha district. Gain fascinating insight into ancient Japanese customs as you dine in the company of a Maiko and capture photographs to immortalize your memorable evening. Sip on a selection of unlimited drinks and pleasure your palate with delicacies inspired by ‘kaiseki’ cuisine, a traditional Japanese cooking style.

What you are gonna do

  • 01

    Your guide will provide you with introduction about Geiko, the local name for Kyoto's geishas, and their Maiko, or apprentices. Then explore the atmospheric streets, walking past local shops and restaurants on the way to Yasaka Shrine. From here continue to Hanami-koji where lavish tea shops line the roadside.
  • 02

    Continue to a theatre where Geisha and Maiko perform traditional dances before crossing Kyoto's famous Tatsumi Bashi Bridge. Arrive at Shirakawa Canal for a leisurely walk along the streets which are lined with cherry trees and brimming with charm.
  • 03

    Dine on a traditional multi-course meal called kaiseki ryori in the company of a Maiko. During dinner, the Maiko will entertain by performing traditional dances and teaching popular Japanese drinking games. Converse with the Maiko and capture fabulous photographs of their exquisite attire while sipping unlimited alcoholic beverages and soft drinks from the bar.
