Our Asia Senses travel guide and driver will come to pick up you at the airport/your Phnom Penh hotel and provide a transfer (approximately 3 hours) to the riverside town of Kampot. Located in the Southwest of the country, this charming town is famous for its French colonial architectures, tranquil river and beautiful countryside. Upon arrival this laid-back town, stroll along the nice, busy streets, visits iconic colonial architectures, observe local’s daily life and absorb the pleasant atmosphere of the town.

Afterward, we head to your hotel for check in and relax. In the afternoon, take a boat for a scenic sunset cruise (1.5 hour). During the tour, the boat will take you past riverside fishing villages, pagodas and mangrove forests. There is also the chance to stop for a swim and visit a fruit plantation of a local farmer. The river is so beautiful and we finished off with the amazing sunset.

You are free in the evening. You can walk around the town, enjoy some fresh seafood at local restaurants and have a drink at one of the charming riverside bars before returning to the hotel.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bokor National Park which is only 8 kilometres from the quiet town of Kampot. This park comprises 1581km² of protected land, home to diverse fauna such as wild elephants, tigers, chestnut-headed partridge and green peafowl.

Upon arrival, ride up to the top of hill to visit Bokor Hill Station, an old French hill station at 1,080 m. It was built by the French in the 1920s to be used as a retreat from the heat of the plains. From the top of hill, you will have spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand, the Southern Cambodian islands and Phu Quoc island.

We then make our way to Popokvil waterfall, another great stopping off point to snap some pictures. The rainy season (from July to November) is the best time for visiting as the falls are at their most impressive. Enjoy a picnic lunch on arrival.

Then transfer back to Kampot to try a simple but effective “seeing hands” massage at the hands of a talented blind masseur with their famed Shiatsu technique.

The rest of day is free at leisure in Kampot. Overnight in Kampot.
