Welcome Dinner
After breakfast, start the Best of Bali Tour today with a chance to explore the beautiful, little-visited province of Karangasem. Start with a visit of Taman Ujung, a beautifully restored water palace set in a pond and only reachable by bridge. Afterwards, head east through Amlapura to the Tirta Gangga. Meaning “water of the Ganges” or “Water Palace”, this sacred water palace was built in the early twentieth century by the last king of Karangasem. It boasts many decorative ponds and fountains, lush plant life and natural bathing pools.

Here, settle down for a delicious Balinese lunch provided at a local restaurant with a view that stretches from the palace’s expansive grounds, across the ocean to Lombok. After lunch, there are two options for additional activities:

Option 1: Have a relaxing afternoon on the tropical beach of Pasir Putih, also known as “Virgin Beach”, near Candidasa. Here, relax and unwind on the beach, take dips in the gentle surf, or simply listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the sand. Hire snorkeling equipment or explore the coral reefs or if the mood strikes, rent a day bed for an afternoon siesta in the sun.

Option 2: Go on a one-hour soft trek through the rice paddies of Tenganan, one of several ancient villages in Bali of the original Bali Aga people.

Return to the hotel in Candidasa late in the afternoon.

Overnight in Candidasa.

Breakfast, Lunch
The Bali tour today offers you a chance to immerse yourself in the farming life. In the morning, after breakfast, check out from the hotel before driving to visit Sidemen countryside village, passing remote villages and local communities, taking in the spectacular and lush landscape. Upon arrival, meet with the local Balinese villagers and receive a traditional conical hat and bamboo walking stick. Enjoy a one-hour walking trip through the areas with rice fields before trying to plow the rice fields behind a buffalo and planting rice seedlings. Be rewarded for this hard work with a cold fresh coconut.

After the farming experience, learn how to do traditional hand-weaving as well as the process of Arak (a Balinese rice wine) distillation. Enjoy a few shots of this local spirit before settling down and enjoy a proper Balinese lunch served in the village.

Following lunch, make your way to the beating cultural heart of Bali known as Ubud. On the way, make a pit stop at Besakih, known as the ‘Mother Temple’ of Bali. Located on the western slopes of Mt Agung, Bali’s highest volcano (2,567 m), Besakih is the largest and most religiously important temple on the island. As such, it is regularly visited by all Balinese for special ceremonies, making it a great place to see traditional Balinese culture. Continue a bit further along as the best view is only a short hike away, at the serene and less-frequented Tegalalang Rice Terraces. At the end of the day, arrive in Ubud for check-in.

Overnight in Ubud.

Breakfast, Lunch
After breakfast this morning, set off on a scenic Bali adventure into the terraced rice fields of Ubud. Transfer by car to Payogan Village, the gateway to Bukit Cinta’s Campuhan Ridge. Stroll along and marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views of the untouched agricultural landscape. Stare in awe at the lush emerald rice-paddy fields, give a wave to friendly farmers and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Stop at Sari Organik, for a refreshing snack and beverage. Revitalized, set off on the final stretch of your trek through the fields before arriving at Ubud Kajeng Rice Fields Walk. Considered Bali's own "walk of fame", the paved route is decorated with different names and leads you to a local restaurant for a tasty lunch.

After lunch, continue to Puri Saren Agung (Ubud Royal Palace) in the heart of the town which was built in the 16th century. The palace is still home to Ubud’s King and its Royal family. Finish excursion today with a walk in Ubud Market where local vendors come to buy and sell exotic produce as well as handicrafts and textiles. Relax this late afternoon with a one-hour Balinese massage treatment at a local spa.

In the evening, be treated to a special traditional Balinese dance performance in a nearby village. It’s a cultural spectacle that will no doubt be one of the highlights of the trip. Dinner at leisure.

Breakfast, Lunch
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and meet the tour guide and driver to head to Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi. Literally translating to “beautiful garden”, this is one of the loveliest temples in Bali. Discover its charms yourself, as you cross a bridge across the enveloping canals into the courtyard. Stroll along the footpath and take in the beauty and meaning of the nine-jet fountain.

Next, enjoy a scenic drive up the slopes of Mount Batukaru - the second highest volcano in Bali (2,271m). At an altitude of 2,270m above sea level on the second highest peak in Bali after Mount Agung, the temple is surrounded by cool natural forests, providing a pleasant sightseeing stopover for nature lovers. Here, visit the UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. This area is known as the ‘Rice Granary of Bali’ and is one of the best examples of subak, the traditional irrigation system used by rice farmers in Bali. Take a leisurely one-hour walk through the rice fields to experience the area’s blissful verdant scenery before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.

Then continue to Lake Bratan for a visit to Ulun Danu Temple. The temple is set in the middle of the lake’s calm waters on a small bit of land, giving it the impression of floating’. Ulun Danu is used for offerings to the Balinese water goddess and widely considered to be one of Bali’s most beautiful temples. From there, travel along a high mountain road with amazing views and stop at an incredible viewpoint overlooking the ‘Twin Lakes’ of Tamblingan and Buyan. Be sure to take some photos here, as it’s considered to be one of the most iconic viewpoints in Bali. Finally, descend from the mountains down to the coastal town of Lovina, in northern Bali.

Check in to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner at leisure.
