Arrive at Adisucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta and receive a warm greeting from the guide and driver before heading to the hotel for check in. Spend some free time to freshen up and relax a bit. Start your journey around the city of Jogjakarta.

Head off first toward the Sultan Palace (Kraton), a magnificent structure built in the 17th Century and carefully planned to reflect the Javanese cosmos. Have a welcome dinner and free at leisure.

Today, explore even more of the built legacy of the Javanese monarchy with a visit to the Water Castle, a beautiful garden constructed originally as a royal park. Then, head on to the nearby Bird Market – with thousands of locals selling exotic birds and sometimes reptiles - for a taste of authentic Javanese culture.

Afterwards, venture to the Kotagede neighbourhood famous for its silver smiths. Stroll past traditional Batik homes before heading to the Borobudur Temple, a world heritage building constructed during the 8th Century and a beautiful example of traditional Mahayana Buddhist architecture.

Finally, make your way to the Prambanan Temple, arguably one of Java’s most astounding Hindu shrines and often considered one of the most beautiful in the world! After your adventure, head back to your hotel for the night.

Awake early in the morning at 05:30. A breakfast box will be provided by the hotel (to be eaten on board the train). At 06:00, be transferred to Yogyakarta Railway Station for a scenic train ride to Mojokerto in East Java. The guide comes along on the journey.

Travelling by train in Java is a wonderful opportunity to meet locals and is also the best way to enjoy the volcanic landscapes of Central and East Java. It is suggested to bring warm clothes as the air conditioning is usually turned on high!

Along the way, keep a look out for beautiful scenery and picturesque Java landscapes. Arrive in Mojokerto and have lunch before swapping to the final leg of your journey to Mount Bromo, where you’ll have a chance to stretch your legs and tuck in for the night.

Rise before the sun and begin your day of exploration around Bromo’s beautiful scenery. Start off with a transfer by jeep and then by horseback toward Mount Bromo, crossing a sea of sand along the way. Head uphill toward the top of the mountain just in time for a spectacular sunrise at the crest of the Bromo volcano, and take in arresting panoramic views from the top of the 2,000 meter summit.

After plenty of time to snap photos and enjoy the scenery, head back downhill and to your hotel. Catch your breath and stretch your legs before departing again, this time along the Java Ocean coastline past the fishing village of Pasir Putih and bound for Ijen. On arrival, relax in your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening as you please.

Wake early for a journey to nearby Paltuding, the gateway to the incredible summit of Mount Ijen. Along the way, pass through rural villages and coffee plantations before your vehicle is engulfed by Java’s dense rainforest. On arrival at the final parking area, disembark your vehicle and continue your journey by foot into the jungle. Brave your climb up the Ijen plateau and along hilly landscapes before arriving at the Ijen crater’s edge, at about 2883 meters above sea level. Enjoy stunning views from here and perhaps catch a glimpse of the sulphur lake below before getting a hands-on look at the local sulphur mining activities that are common here.

Head back to the ranger’s post and start your drive to Ketapang. On arrival, hop on board a ferry and chug across the Bali Strait toward Gilimanuk to meet your new guide. Finally, depart from Gilimanuk to Lovina and spend the rest of your evening at leisure.

Rise before the dawn to venture out onto the sea for a morning of dolphin watching. Cruise out onto the water, and watch for up to five species of native dolphins jumping out of the waters. Watch them pop up along the horizon as the sky lightens and the sun rises with them. Marvel at this stunning backdrop before returning to your hotel for breakfast. Spend the rest of the day doing whatever you please! Whether lounging by the pool with a drink or strolling along the beach before exploring the laid-back town, it’s up to you.

This morning, depart from Lovina and head toward Ubud in Central Bali. Along the way, take a break from the drive to hike down a steep decline toward the stunning Git Git Waterfall. Sit back and relax at the fall’s base before heading to the nearby Goddess of the Lake Temple, also called the Ulun Danu. Nestled right along the water’s edge, wander through this stunning temple and enjoy beautiful views of Ulun Danu Lake before continuing on to a local restaurant for lunch. After regaining your energy, wander through a local market in nearby Candi Kuning and grab some local produce.

Continue along your journey, making one last stop to visit Taman Ayun Temple. Literally translating to “beautiful garden” this is one of the loveliest temples in Bali. Discover its charms yourself, as you cross a bridge across the enveloping canals into the courtyard. Stroll along the footpath and take in the beauty and meaning of the nine-jet fountain. Once you’ve explored the temple grounds, finish your journey, arriving in Ubud for the rest of the day at your leisure in this beautiful upland town that’s not only scenic but also the centre of traditional dance and culture on the island.

Set off on your Bali adventure, discovering the colourful aspects of Balinese life, from traditional arts to agriculture. After breakfast, head off on a one-of-a-kind trek to Mt. Kintamani in the eastern highlands. First, admire a fascinating Barong Dance performance, a classical Balinese art form that narrates a mythological tale of the eternal battle between good and evil, featuring a lion-like creature who is the king of spirits. Afterwards, visit “Elephant Cave” an ancient sanctuary with creatures carved into the glistening stone façade, surrounded by charming gardens.

Sample delicious local coffees and hot drinks as you continue trekking, including the world’s most expensive coffee, the famous “Coffee Luwak.” Finally, upon reaching Kintamani, take in the stunning views of mountains, lakes and rice fields. Continue a bit further along as the best view is only a short hike away, at the serene and less-frequented Tegalalang Rice Terraces. After your morning adventure, drive back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast this morning, set off on a scenic adventure into the terraced rice fields of Ubud. Transfer by car to Payogan Village, the gateway to Bukit Cinta’s Campuhan Ridge. Stroll along and marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views of the untouched agricultural landscape. Stare in awe at the lush emerald rice-paddy fields, give a wave to friendly farmers and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Stop at Sari Organic, for a refreshing snack and beverage. Revitalized, set off on the final stretch of your trek through the fields before arriving at Kajend Track. Considered Bali's own "walk of fame", the paved route is decorated with different names and leads you to your final stop: a local restaurant for a tasty mid-day meal. This marks the end of your journey and the time to head back to your hotel, to do as you please.

Depart Ubud today to journey to Candidasa, a coastal town with spectacular views along the way. Enjoy the scenic drive before stopping at Pura Besakih the most sacred and immense temple of Bali’s Hindu faith. It’s commonly referred to as Bali’s ‘Mother Temple’, was built over a millennia ago, high up on the slopes of Mt. Agung.

After exploring this mesmerizing holy site, have lunch at a local restaurant before continuing onwards to Sidemen Village. A traditional hamlet surrounded by tranquil rice paddies, take a guided stroll through, observing farmers tending the fields. Finally, arrive at Candidasa, check into your accommodation and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool or strolling along the waterfront.

Drive along the eastern coastline of Bali, leaving Candidasa behind as you journey towards Sanur. En route, make a stop at Tenganan Village, one of the island’s most ancient villages. Vibrant with traditional customs and rituals of the Balinese people, discover its Gamelan music and beautifully intricate double ikat textiles. Head further south before stopping at Goa Lawah, a temple at the mouth of a cave that’s home to over a thousand bats.

Continue on with on last stop at Kusamba, a village which harvests sea salt, a practice which has been passed down for generations. After learning more about the arduous methods and traditional techniques to produce this high quality natural salt, finish your drive to Sanur. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day doing as you please.

Rise before the sun for a picturesque morning cycling tour around Sanur. Cycle to the beach, have a stretch and watch the magnificent sunrise. Pedal onwards to the Sindhu morning market where locals shop. Take in the variety of fresh ingredients brought in every morning. Next, have a taste of a scrumptious chocolate pancake with fried banana or yellow rice, as your guide purchases some offerings for the next stop at Campuhan Windu Segara. There, observe how locals worship, and make an offering to the gods with the help of your guide.

Finish off this morning tour cycling to a small gazebo by the beach, and sink your teeth into some Nasi Bunkus, a traditional small meal of rice and meat packaged in brown paper before returning to your hotel to spend the rest of the day however you’d like.

This morning bid farewell to Sanur before embarking on a flight to Labuan Bajo. Upon your arrival, our guide will welcome and transfer you to the cruise for check in around 2pm (upon the arrival time of the guest).

Have lunch on the board before cruising and sailing to Sebayur Kecil where you enjoy the 1st snorkeling. After that, enjoy happy hour on the sun deck. Dinner and night on board.

Breakfast and sail to Rinca Area. Lunch on the board. Snorkeling in the area (upon conditions and tides): Three Sisters, Pengah Kecil, Wainilu, Bonsai.

(Optional): Sail along to Rinca Island, where you’ll enjoy a trek with a local ranger in search of more mighty Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. Spot other wildlife roaming the island, including monkeys and buffalos, while taking in the scenery. Once you reach the top of the hills, enjoy the lovely panoramic views of the islands and ridges against the waters. After marvelling at the breath taking scenery, return to the ship.

Back to the cruise then enjoy sunset at Kalong Beach. BBQ dinner on Kalong Beach. Night fishing available. Night on board.

After breakfast, head back to Labuan Bajo, to visit at local market before transferring to the airport to catch your flight to Makassar.

In the afternoon, see the thousands of species of fish in the waters of the national park, as you snorkel and swim the rest of the day away. Later in the evening, go ashore on an island to relax at a beachside barbeque bonfire with the crew and guests. Celebrate your memorable voyage under the stars, savouring every moment of your last night at sea.

Begin your Toraja tour by sitting back and relaxing as you drive up into the hilly region of Tana Toraja, for a day long transfer through the picturesque countryside. Drive along traditional Buginese villages, before a lunch-stop in the coastal city of Pare-Pare. Tuck into a fresh lunch at a seafood restaurant, savouring your crustaceans as you look out onto the beautiful bay view.

Continue to drive into the highlands this afternoon, stopping to take in spectacular panoramas of Gunung Nona’s stunning hillside. Arrive in the mountainous town of Rantepao in the late afternoon, the centre of your Toraja tour. Rantepao is considered the cultural centre of the Toraja ethnic group, so check into your hotel before enjoying a relaxing free evening before your exploration of the region tomorrow. This morning tuck into a delicious breakfast at your hotel before exploring the fascinating cultural and historical sights of Toraja. Start with a visit to Lemo, a hauntingly beautiful burial cliff. Marvel at the sections of the rock that have been carved out and filled with colourful wooden effigies of the dead, referred to as Tau Tau statues. Learn more about its interesting history, before continuing on to Kambira. Another mesmerizing site, witness Toraja beliefs materialized, at these truly unique graves amongst the trees. In Torajan tradition, a deceased infant must be buried uprights as it is said they will continue to grow with the tree.

After visiting this shady and tranquil grove, discover the ancient tombs of Londa, a burial cave and archaeological wonder. Return to Rantepao for lunch before setting off towards Ke’te Ke’su, one of the most traditional and well-preserved Toraja villages. Wander along the traditional ancestral homes, known as a Tongkonan, with their distinctive ssaddle like appearance. Absorb the unique and colourfully detailed woodcarvings of some structures, and learn more about the traditional rites and daily customs of the Toraja before transferring back to your hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Unveil more of the majestic beauty and captivating culture of Toraja, as you head off after breakfast deeper into the highlands. Stop at Tinambayo for jaw-dropping views of the valley and rice terraces from over a thousand metres above sea level. Snap a few photos before continuing on to Lokomata, another fascinating grave site. What sets Lokomata apart is its sheer size, the immense scale of the gigantic boulder, covered in colourfully decorated wooden doors that house final resting places of departed Torajans. It is simply breathtaking.

Next, carry on to the scenic village of Batutumonga perched on the ridge of Gunung Sesean. Featuring some of the most stunning and alluring views of the region, take in the enchanting terraced rice paddies, cliffs, forests’ and rolling hills. Wonder at the natural majesty on a short trek through this lush area, working up your appetite for lunch at a local restaurant.

Afterwards, see the Bori megalith up close, learning more about the impressive rituals of the Toraja people, such as their menhirs (standing stones). Next, explore some Torajan villages as well as a weaving centre before returning to your accommodation for the night. Dinner at hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel we depart the central Toraja region of Sulawesi and travel to the village of Sengkang. A former capital of the Bugis kingdom which overlooks Lake Tempe; with a bustling market town famous for its fine silk weaving.

The route we take cuts through the lush tropical forest of Sulawesi and Enrekang where on the way a short photo stop is made (basic bathroom facilities) with views of ‘Erotic Mountain’ also known as Gunung Nona. Check in to your hotel and then depart for a sunset excursion on Lake Temple. Take the local motorized canoe and enjoy the cruise along the lake. The Bugis people have a unique housing style where their traditional houses float on the lake. Take this opportunity to travel on a local longboat to enjoy the Bugis hospitality with a cup of tea or coffee, and maybe some fried banana (a favourite snack in Indonesia). There are about 30 houses that remain on the lake and participate in the old traditions of fishing and fish drying.

Return to the village late afternoon for a walk around the market where you see a variety of jungle foods and practice haggling like a local. Dinner and overnight in Sengkang.

After breakfast, head south to Cape Bira on the south eastern tip of Sulawesi. This place is famous for its white powdery sand beaches. The trip to Cape Bira is via Watampone on the east coast of Sulawesi. During the journey, visit rural village of the Bugis people where they you will learn the processes of growing sugar, rice and cacao. Take lunch at a local restaurant enroute.

Arriving to Bira late in the afternoon. Check in to your accommodation and spend the day at leisure under coconut trees on the beach or snorkelling just off the coast. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant. Overnight in Bira Beach.

The Grand tour of Indonesia wraps up today. After having breakfast, we will take a boat of the local fishermen to go to the nearby island of Liukan where you can snorkel the pristine coral environment around 25 min offshore. You will also visit the fishing village community of Konjo who are renowned for their weaving and design known as ikat.

Return to the shore to have early lunch before being transferred back to Makassar for the flight back to Denpasar (19:45 - 21:10) or to Surabaya (19:00 - 19:30). Connect your onward flight.
