Our local representatives will be awaiting for you at the entrance of Pangkalanbun Airport then provide you with a transfer to Kumai Port to board a local Klotok boat to Rimba Orangutan Eco Lodge, our tonight’s accommodation. This scenic journey takes around 2.5 hours, riding along the lush vegetation of Nipa palm and pandan trees of the Kumai and Sekonyer Rivers.
Upon arrival, check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Surrounded by tropical forest, the Rimba Lodge provides an ideal base from which you can explore the surrounding rainforest and Tanjung Puting National Park. This park is famous for its ecological and biological diversity, with mangrove swamps, rainforest and dense jungles filled with primates, leopards, lizards and more than 250 bird species.

Following breakfast, board a local klotok boat and proceed upstream along the Seikonyer River to Camp Leaky area. En route, pass the black river where suddenly the water changes from brown to black. You also have chance to see various birds that live in the jungles around the river: kingfishers, broadbill, hornbills.
After a freshly prepared lunch on boat you will arrive at Camp Leakey (around 13:30). Upon arrival, take a 30-minute walk along a wooden platform then, follow a jungle path to the feeding stations. On the way, you will have chance to observe see more wildlife such as orangutans, gibbons, wild pigs, long tail macaque, birds etc.
Come to feeding station around 14:00 to attend the daily feeding for rehabilitated orangutans. You will watch the orangs swinging in through the trees coming into the platform for bananas and sweet potatoes. They are really quite fascinating, and certainly for those who really are wildlife lovers, you can easily spend a couple of hours observing them and their interaction.
Afterward, return to the klotok boat and ride back to Rimba Lodge. On the way back, you also have chance to spot a few orangutans and proboscis monkeys which are seating on the trees on the banks of the river.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, we will take another full-day trip around the jungles and explore two other feeding stations inside the Tanjung Puting National Park. You will watch orangutans feed, interact with each other and the natural environment.
From the lodge, we ride upstream for about an hour to reach Pondok Tanguy. Witness feeding time at 09.00, then continuing boat the klotok through tea colored water where you will see the magnificent reflection from the vegetation along the river, when lucky with us, the fresh water crocodile and other wildlife attraction could be found along the river bank. We then cruise downstream to Pasalat Rainforest Station to discover the conservation work being done by several institutions and NGO's to try and preserve orangutan habitats. The feeding time at this station is 15:00.
From this station, take a walk through Harapan Village, one of the only settlements along the river. Meet with locals, take part in some of their daily activities before returning to the lodge for the accommodation.
