In this Ladakh Nubra Valley Trekking, you are to trek in a natural gallery of ancient civilization that is dotted with petroglyphs depicting the Neolithic settlements, ancient monasteries that exhibit various forms of Indo-Tibetan culture. Passing through the remote villages along trails allows you to experience unique local cultural, see snow clad peaks, translucent lakes, barrent terrains and much more.

DAY 01: LEH ARRIVAL
This tour starts from DEHLI. You will be transferred to Delhi Airport to catch the domestic flight to LEH, the capital of Ladakh in northern India. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our Asia Senses representative and transferred to the hotel for check in.
The day is at leisure to assist with acclimatisation. If you feel active, there are plenty of things to explore within easy walking distance of your hotel. A walking tour can be arranged on the day if you want to get out and about.

DAY 02: LEH
Rise early to visit Thiksey Monastery with its statue of the seated Maitreya Buddha and join the morning prayer ceremony at 6:00 AM. Despite the early start, this is a worthwhile experience. Afterwards, head south to the Hemis Monastery, the oldest monastic institution of Ladakh, built in the 13th century in a remote valley. Return to Leh then have lunch.
This afternoon, stop by Leh's labyrinthian streets and quiant bazaars. Leh is very 'Tibetan' in culture, which is visible in the local dress, montasteries, large chortens, prayer flags and mud brick houses with flat roofs. After, return to your hotel for a night of refreshment and relaxation.
OPTIONAL: There is a chance to join a séance session with the Oracle of Saboo (additional costs apply).

DAY 03: LEH – KHARDUNG LA – KHALSAR
Today, drive to Khardung La, one of the highest motor-able roads in the world. It is at an altitude of 5,359 meters and is 39.7 km from Leh. It is a painful 3-hour drive up on a winding road, interrupted by minor landslides and avalanches from Leh to Khardung La.
After that, drive to visit Samstanling Monastery, a popular monastery which showcases the traditional touch with shades of gold, red and white. It was founded 140 years back in 1841 by Lama Tsultim Nima. If time permits, stop to visit some surrounding villages. The night stay today is in KHALSAR.

DAY 04: KHALSAR – HUNDER
After breakfast in the morning, drive to Diskit Monastery, also known as Deskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa, the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra Valley. The main and unique attraction of this monastery is a gigantic statue of Lord Buddha on the top of it.
The excursion today also includes a Bactrian camel ride in the sand dunes of HUNDER, an oasis amidst the cold desert. It will feel positively tropical down at 3,000m and a complete contrast to yesterday's glaciers. Then proceed to our first camp. Check in your accommodation then spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 05: HUNDER – TREK TO SKARCHEN
After breakfast, begin our trekking through an incredible valley to shepherd's huts positioned at Skarchen (3800 meters). The trail follows the river on a wide newly build road and continues along an impressive gorge, passing through the small villages of Dok Gongma, Dok Yokma and Wachan.
If you are not in a hurry to get to your camp at SKARCHEN, spend some time exploring the villages and share a few moments getting to know the locals. Our first day of trekking will last for 4 – 5 hrs. Dinner and relax.

DAY 06: SKARCHEN – BROK YOGMA
Today, trek to Brok Yogma (4200meters), crossing through the tiny hamlets of Dokyogma, Wacham and Drokyogma where the locals live with their Yaks, cows, goats and sheep. You could see locals who are collecting milk, cheese, butter, wild vegetables and fuel for the winter. Dinner and relax.

DAY 07: BROK YOGMA – LASERMO LA
Today, trek up to the valley of Hunder and the base of Lasermo La which is set at 4800 meters elevation. The trail passes through large meadows gradually gaining altitude and is very well defined. Yaks and Dzos can be seen grazing around.
On reaching the base camp of the LASERMO LA, get spectacular views of the Karakoram mountains and the Ladakh and Zanskar ranges.

DAY 08: LASERMO LA – PHYANG LA
Start early in the morning then cross the Lasermo Pass at 5,420 meters and then trek down to Phyang La. On the top of the Lasermo La Pass, you can see the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, the Indus valley and the Shyok Valley.
From the pass, the trail leads us through rough moraines for few hours before reaching the camp in PHYANG LA.
Overnight stay at the camp (4500 meters of elevation).

DAY 09: PHYANG VALLEY – LEH
Today, descend down through meadows, flowers, and sometimes rocks of Phyang Valley where the driver will be waiting to take you back to LEH. Arrive at the hotel and have overnight stay.

DAY 10: LEH DEPARTURE
Free at leisure until your driver transfers you to the airport to catch your flight back to Delhi. Your Ladakh and Nubra Valley Trek with Asia Senses ends here.
