We pass through a narrow entrance and opening up into the first chamber which contains a large bronze reclining Buddha, three meter long gold color Buddha image. It was used as a bunker in defence against Yunnanese Chinese invaders in the early 19th Century and be home for local people in Vietnam – American war. Because its high location offered perfect view of Vang Vieng, the entire village moved there to sit out the war, and named their haven 'Tham Jang' (Hang Around Cave).
